The Tissue-Tek Genie® anti-OCT3/4 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [C-10] is designed to qualitatively detect OCT3/4 protein in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissue specimen sections by immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining on the automated Tissue-Tek Genie® Advanced Staining System. OCT3/4 IHC is used as a diagnostic tool with a panel of other antibodies in identifying germ cell tumors and distinguishing them from other neoplasms. In tumor tissues, OCT3/4 expression varies by germ cell tumor (GCT) type and has been detected in the neoplastic cells of seminoma, dysgerminoma, embryonal carcinoma, and germ cell neoplasia in situ (GCNIS). However, OCT3/4 is absent in yolk sac tumor, teratoma and choriocarcinoma.
