Causes and remedies
- Rough grossing
Change trimming and/or scalpel blades more frequently to prevent damage - Poor tissue processing
Soak block on ice bath to soften overprocessed, hard tissue; reprocess appropriately if under processed
- Rough handling in water bath to dislodge wrinkles
Approach sections more gently with forceps or needles - Floating in water bath too long or in water that is too hot
Pick up sections in a timelier manner or reduce temperature in water bath
