Sakura Finetek USA launches the Tissue-Tek Genie® DUO product line for dual staining on the Tissue-Tek Genie® Advanced Staining System.
July 24, 2019
TORRANCE, CA – Sakura Finetek USA, Inc. today announced the launch of the
DUO product line for the Tissue-Tek Genie® Advanced Staining System.
“The beauty of the DUO product line stained on the Genie Advanced Staining System is that the staining results of two biomarkers can be revealed at the expense of 15 additional minutes of turn-around time (TAT). This shortened TAT enables the DUO biomarker staining process to be scheduled alongside of single biomarker staining without having the pathologist wait for the result.” said Peter Luu, Senior Vice President of Sakura Bioscience. “The pair of biomarkers are selected to enhance the information when the tumor transitions from expressing more of one biomarker and diminishing the expression of another biomarker.
A perfect example would be the pair of biomarkers AMACR and p63. This transition of expression level of two different biomarkers provides better information of benign prostate tissue versus prostate carcinoma” continued Mr. Luu.
This new Tissue-Tek Genie®
DUO product line includes a new detection kit as well as antibody cocktails designed for use on the Tissue-Tek Genie Advanced Staining System.
This first release includes:
- Tissue-Tek Genie® DUO Mouse-DAB/Rabbit-AP Red Dual Detection Kit
- Tissue-Tek Genie® DUO anti-Melan A [EP43] /Ki67 [GM010] Antibody Cocktail
- Tissue-Tek Genie® DUO Non-immune Mouse and Rabbit Ig Antibody Cocktail, Negative Control
Like the wide range of antibodies launched previously, also these new antibody cocktails are provided in two formats to serve any laboratory size and workflow:
- Innovative single-use capsules that enable loading of any slide, any stain, any time, on any instrument
- Cartridges with 100 tests for high volume antibodies used every day.
About the Genie System
Quality that excites. Sakura Finetek partnered with NordiQC (www.nordiqc.org
), a world-leading external quality assurance institute, to assure optimal stain quality for our entire menu of antibodies. The species and clones of Genie antibodies have been carefully selected and proficiently developed to meet our rigorous standards to provide quality patient care. The stain protocols for Genie antibodies provide exceptional sensitivity and specificity to enable accurate assessment of patients’ specimens by pathologists.
Stop sorting, gain time. With its 30 fully independent staining stations, the Genie offers true random access and does not slow down when more slides are added. Users can eliminate time-consuming slide sorting or grouping, and instead simply load their next most important slide or case.
Flexibility that liberates. Laboratories can use Genie’s unique and innovative single-use
capsules for antibodies or probes and load them on Genie’s independent staining stations together with the slides. The 250-test Genie Detection Systems (PRO DAB, PRO AP Red, DUO DAB / AP Red) and antibody cartridges are loaded onto the system’s carousel, which deliver the reagents in constant timed cycles guaranteeing predictable workflow.
Genie enables users to realize flexibility, better economy, and faster turnaround time.
Fast to learn, easy to operate. The Genie Software uses intuitive graphics and two mouse-
click navigation for simplified operation, and provides a comprehensive status at a glance. The replacement of bulk reagents and waste bottles is quick and strain-free.
